Chronicles of the Monetarist

Short Story 1
Forgetful,Brilliant and rarely humorous Professor :
"I will tell you all a joke. (a sly grin flashes across face) Why was Adam the first ever accountant?"

(half the class wakes up to this challenge, looks around)

Professor continues :
"Because he was the first one ever to turn a leaf and make an entry"
(grin becomes more wider with guilt)

(3 guys roll with laughter. rest of class goes back to sleep)

Short Story 2

Student : What are the end term portions? Where do we study from? What can we expect?

Forgetful,Brilliant and rarely tactful Professor :

"As usual, carefully follow the class notes. Like Philip Weiss, a character in Vikram Seth’s novel The Golden Gate (“He drinks and he continues drinking/And having drunk, he drinks again”) for the exam “Do read and continue reading/ And having read, just read again."

(evil grin surely flashing across face)

The Adam and Eve joke... I was like "Did he just say that?!!!"

But the Vikram Seth quote was BRILLIANT! :)
